New Blog

So. To the three of my readers:) I am starting another blog. I have been reading all of these healthy living blogs and I have decided that I want to become one of them:) John and Sarah Herrington doesn't sound like a fun healthy lifestyle type of blog so...I have started www.imworththework.blogspot.com I would love for you to check it out. I'm going to try to update it every day with healthy eating and working out stuff:) but most importantly my journey to getting back to a healthy lifestyle. These healthy living blog people are awesome. They all encourage each other and have great tips, so I'm hoping this will encourage me too:) I am going to take a break from this one for a while...I don't have kids, so its not as fun for me:). Hope to see you over at my other blog!

ROCK N ROLL HALF MARATHON!!!

OK, so I attempted the 8 mile turkey trot this last week with my fabulous sister in law Erin. It did not go so well. I only ended up running three miles (and did walk a bit for those three miles) because....here is my list of excuses: My husband backed out on me last minute. Said he was dreading it. My brother was sick so he backed out. (would not have made a big difference if he was but I'm thinking I might have been able to convince him to walk with me since he's my brother). And, my headphones stopped working like 5 minutes into the race! That's a big one! Do not buy these headphones at Best Buy. Not sure what they are called, but they are NIKE and are blue with red ear buds. Now I have to say Erin, my sis in law, was beyond nice. She kept telling me she would stop and walk with me, but I felt horrible because she had been training for the White Rock Half Marathon on December 13 (get out there and support her!!) and I didn't want to slow her and her brother down. While she was completely willing to walk with me, she kicked butt and finished her 8 miles in 10 min 30 sec miles. SO PROUD! My point in telling everyone this is to say that I have just signed up for the Rock N Roll Half Marathon in March and I am EXCITED!
I start training tonight with a 3 mile run. I'm looking forward to taking an appropriate amount of time to train. (I tried to do the 8 mile turkey trot with only 5 weeks to train) That's all. I'm excited and wanted to tell everyone...now if only I could start eating healthy...
