God Grew Tired of Us

I watched this movie last night with John, and I have to say it is one of the most amazing movies I have ever seen. It was so eye opening.
Brad Pitt is the executive producer of this movie, and Nicole Kidman is the narrator.
I didn't really want to watch it when John brought it home because I did not like the title of the movie. I do not think God grows tired of us. He is a loving God who always has His arms open for us to come back to Him. The title of the movie comes from one of the boys who is talking about his journey from Sudan to Kenya. He says that he thought that God might have let everything happen to his homeland because He grew tired of his people. It is very clear though that he does not think this anymore because for the rest of the movie, he talks about how great God is to provide for them. So, that bugs me that they named the movie what they named it, but I can get over it...
This is a beautiful story and a very convicting one. I don't think that you can finish watching this movie and not feel the need to help these people. It is inspiring and it is sad.
"Orphaned by a tumultuous civil war and traveling barefoot across the sub-Saharan desert, John Bul Dau, Daniel Abol Pach and Panther Blor were among the 25,000 “Lost Boys” (ages 3 to 13) who fled villages, formed surrogate families and sought refuge from famine, disease, wild animals and attacks from rebel soldiers. Named by a journalist after Peter Pan’s posse of orphans who protected and provided for each other, the “Lost Boys” traveled together for five years and against all odds crossed into the UN’s refugee camp in Kakuma, Kenya. A journey’s end for some, it was only the beginning for John, Daniel and Panther, who along with 3800 other young survivors, were selected to re-settle in the United States."
I think EVERYONE should see this movie. We are so blessed to be here in America, but when you watch this video, you see how jaded America is. You see how these boys, even though they were starving and dying, were blessed, because they had each other and values.
OK, I'm going to stop talking about this now, but I think I will have more to come.
